Maybe it is a different perception in the states?
In the UK, all the big phone companies have spent the last 10-15 years squabbling, digging, massaging figures and doing anything else they could do to get people to buy phones.
I have had nokia phones for over a decade now, with only occasional dips out to other companies, but I certainly wouldn't rate them as being noticeably more honest than any other company out there.
