Sure, just open x-term and type "/usr/sbin/stopMouse.sh"

Also it sounds like you might want to install the latest version of the mouse package: 0.1.2
The update makes it so that the onscreen keyboard still appears and works normally while a mouse is connected; you can see the updated wiki page for more details:
