As suggested, I installed Modest.
But still no success.
Now I get the message:
Unable to connect to pop.googlemail.com. Server name or port number may be incorrect.

Outgoing Server "smtp.googlemail.com
Security SSL (POP3S).
Incoming Email Port 995
Outgoing:
SMTP Authentication "Login".
User Name "name@gmail.com".
Security: SSL.
Outgoing Email Port: 465.
