"defend the constantly moving apps." I do consider it a move in the right direction; the transparency and overlappability is great, and that's the main functionality difference; they unfortunately implemented a wrong revised UI for handling it.
Constantly moving = bad.
Non-overlappable = very bad.
So we're a little ahead, but I don't defend that aspect of it at all, and it's not an inherent tradeoff, so defending the overlappability does not imply any defense of the unlockability.
As far as I can tell, that's (a more verbose version of) the strongest pro-2008 sentiment around; if you can point to some actual defense, I'd be interested. Should be highly funny...
