Can you confirm that the 'gphoto2' executable is present in '/usr/local/bin'? If it is, and your terminal session cannot find it, it suggests that (oddly) this directory might not be in $PATH.

For a work-around, you could type in the complete path name i.e. /usr/local/bin/gphoto2.

Ironically, even though I ported the code, I don't have it installed on my N800 -- too much space, and too flaky to be useful to me right now
