I had a defective device. The replacement works fine with the same cards that the first one wouldn't use. It's going back to CompUSA (tigerdirect) today. They have been very good about it (and $219 is a great price). I'll probably end up buying another replacement so I can keep one at home and one at work (video phone with my wife).
