I think my point (well, okay... I know my point) was that this sounds much more like a problem with the Yahoo IM service than with the program that's interfacing with it. If you can send messages and they are received, then you are logged in and "functional" on the yahoo network. If return messages aren't making it back to you, then it sounds like yahoo is dropping them somewhere...
