Why go with a 770? You can't even buy them anymore, so you'd have to buy a used one off ebay or some such.

A new n800 is going from $175 - $250 depending on where, and I spotted an n810 for $379 the other day (the n810 WiMAX is due out so n810s will be dropping soon).

the nseries will handle almost everything you said, especially with a wifi connection. Be aware though, there is no real PIM type software on it by default (Some great apps are available for free) and you will most likely have to update the OS when you get it. I *just* bought an n810 and the OS was three revisions behind giving me a few dependency errors till I flashed in the latest update. It was quick and easy, plus its free unlike the iPhone/iPod Touch.
