Developers may find this helpful when making debs for diablo:

9. If the packages has the 'flash-and-reboot' flag, call
/usr/bin/flash-and-reboot. Otherwise, if the package has the
'reboot' flag, reboot.
Off topic, but this is why I love opensource. I love load-applet but I wished it would save my screenshots on the memory card but it didn't. It took me 5 mins to change the code to do that. (Anddd, it didn't work . Still, the fact that you can do it is nice)

Remember, if you install this in Chinook, you are ****ed.
