Hello!
I recently bought an N800, which should be arriving shortly, and I'd love to use it as a session recording device with a decent external mic and a higher bit rate. It looks like there has been some other discussion (e.g.
here
) on this forum about doing this, but I wonder whether anyone has gotten further? There is
a bug in the Maemo bugzilla
about the sample rate, and
Audacity apparently runs
but neither plays nor records. Some other audio-related apps have
been ported
as well.
There is a Debian ARM port of Audacity, so it looks like the only problem is with accessing the DSP. I haven't found much other discussion of this use of the tablets, so I figured I'd ask here if anyone had started poking around with the N8x0s DSP (
some have, without luck
)? Alternately, is there any good documentation or a programming API for it?
thanks, and hopefully I'll be able to contribute some apps in the future. This looks like a cool platform.
