I seems to only show today's todo tasks or overdue tasks (which it marks with a (!)). Future tasks are ignored. I guess it is assuming you are always behind in your tasks ... which is probably a good assumption in my case ... but when it doesn't have any overdue tasks or today's tasks to show, it should be changed to show upcoming or undated tasks rather than "(no todos)".
