I started to sound like a used car saleman for Acronis. They seem to have an option to remove a particular file from your zipped image. Presumbly that could help to bring it back to the 'previous healthy bootable configuration'. This is way beyond my brain cells. I think you better go to their website and dl a FREE trial version and see. I dl ed it and play with it for a few days and seemed pretty well behaved. And I also remember some forum member has called them up for questions while using the FREE trial version.
