The hardware even with a driver can not drive the resolution of the NIT. That's why WM and iPhone don't try to go beyond 640x480. Not a lot of mobile hardware CPU, GPU support it. Nokia was pushing the envelope. Now TI's newer hardware has caught up with what Nokia brought to market with th 770 originally as far as resolution.
