I didn't say put HID into libgnokii. I also said "and its associated app" (meaning Phonelink, because I can never remember its name). Phonelink is where HID/BIP support would/should go, IMO.
I've seen a VNC _client_ for S60, but not a VNC _server_. But, I don't think that makes BIP un-necessary. BIP is a standard BT profile, and thus might be easier/better to support across more phone platforms, where depending upon a VNC server for S60 means you're limited to support/interacting with S60 phones.
That said... and S60 VNC server would be rather cool. I'd be interested in that if it was out there (have any URLs you know of, or should I start scouring google?). Use my N810's VNC client to remote control an E66 or N78 maybe? Then I wouldn't even need a HID client on the N810. Though, I don't know how I'd specify to VNC to use the phone's IP address via DUN... or would I have to try to tether them via wifi? (joikuspot?)
