Well, no, I don't look through the forums for a solution. But, you are a true star and I have always said that I appreciated your work. All I asked was for a quick, simple and non destructive way to put back the bootmenu after flashing Diablo.
Thank you a million times for doing this.
PS. I'm not little, I'm an overworked developer with a 2+ hour commute each way. I don't want to have to mess about with LINUX. I've no real interest in it. The IT runs Maemo as far as I'm concerned. I run Windows at work (*job*) and OS X at home (*play*).
I'm sorry you took such an offense. You have to see it from my point of view. I fully admit to flashing Diablo, I therefore screwed up my own bootmenu. I have no experience with LINUX much past dabbling. I wanted my Chinook SD install back to use it. It was lost. The prospect of re-flashing was looming. I don't have a spare SD card. I don't have the time to find out how Fanoush designed his boot menu scripy/config. It should have been much less heated and simpler to fix.
Thank you for making the extra package. I'm sure it's going to help loads of people.
The most important thing to remember... I just wanted to get the information in *your* bootmenu config file. If I had gotten it wrong, as per Fanoush's instructions, the boot manager would not boot my device. All I ever wanted was to reflash the boot menu. In all honesty, when you brushed off my request, I simply opened up the deb and flashed the file I found,. It worked, I was happy.
The reason this thread has carried on is that even though I kept saying "I like your deb, it's good" and such and that if you explained *somewhere* what was needed to reflash the boot menu, it would have all okay. You kept on telling me you were not interested and to go away. You seemed like you were being a dick, so I responded accordingly.
Look, I have no wish to argue on with you. I was out of line earlier. I appologise, even though I feel it was mainly a misunderstanding that caused the friction. If you in any way feel like I have some further pennance to pay, PM me and I will grovel at you feet or some such thing
