So, did you try the western (or eastern) states map with, I think it's called, Mapper? That works great for giving street-level views, including letting you know where the local pizza parlor is.

On my N800, I've had street-level views of all of Southern California from Los Angeles to San Diego in Maemo Mapper. I only had a few levels; I think it was level 3, 7, and 12 or something. I didn't notice how much space was used, since, as I say, I have 6 gigs. And I used Maemo Mapper for routing -- the voice isn't that good, so it was probably my imagination that I heard it say, after I made a wrong turn, "a-hole! I said turn right!"
