It should run fine... you might look at running it in a chroot environment rather than booting from it. There's a couple of threads on the subject here, mostly about Debian ARM.

While it *should* run, several things wouldn't work 'cause the drivers for the hardware (for the most part) are closed-source. So probably no wireless, the keyboard "blue" keys wouldn't work etc.

I don't really know what the benefit would be.
