as for installing applications, you can:

1. download the .deb files in your computer, transfer them to the n800 and open them through the file browser which will automatically install them

2. in you n770/n810, go to application manager and look for installable applications (you need to be connected to a wifi access point)

you can add/remove any application you want. you can reinstall them anytime you want too.
