Does the drive appear on the USBControl device listing, maybe after pressing Refresh a couple of times? Also running dmesg from the command line is a helpful tool for troubleshooting issues that might be driver related, or otherwise tied to the kernel (like USB issues often are). dmesg simply prints the kernel ring buffer. Kernel drivers and subsystems have lot to say in there.

EDIT: Refresh in USBControl seems to do nothing. I had to restart USBControl to see any newly connected devices.
