Yes, maemo extras is falling because an error with the package list.
There is an easy workaround what was explained in other thread:
1) Power on your tablet, if it's off.
2) Wait some seconds.
3) Connect to internet with the connection applet.
4) Open the Application Manager.
5) In the AM, go to the menu -> Tools -> Application catalogue.
6) Search maemo extras repository.
7) Edit, in Distribution write 4.1 if you are using Diablo, write 4.0 if you are using Chinook, or 2.2 if you are in OS2006 yet. Bora is working.
8) Refresh the application manager.

BTW, the bug tracker is working and better than never.
