Just a quick note.. it may (or may not) be worth noting, for all these media collections, that it might be worthwhile to get a massive USB hard drive (120GB, etc.) and plug it into the USB port, assuming the drive can be powered externally or on its own batteries for portability.
I'm expecting to someday drive across the entire country again (Massachusetts back to California again--as my brother and I have done many times before). A three-day trip of driving 24-hours a day, non-stop... and I have a 40GB Seagate drive that runs off USB power.. but it has a split cable. I also have a tiny nickel-sized mini-USB A to female USB A adapter... and a car adapter for USB plugins and a car adapter for my N800.. and a three-way splitter for the car's power receptacle. Seems to work remarkably well in my experiments. I see geeks.com has external 750GB hard drives bundled with USB 2.0 compatible and externally powered cases. (Yes, I plugged in a 750GB SATA w/ USB to the N800... and it worked great too.)
It certainly beats swapping out SD cards and hard drives are a LOT faster too.
It doesn't beat just having a massive SDHC card already in there and only carrying around the N8x0 under other circumstances, mind you, but for huge collections of anything it's still cheaper than any equivalent SDHC (and in larger sizes impossible to find in SDHC).
Just throwing that idea back out there, in case it makes better sense or saves some money for someone.
