Yes, it has worked with Kubuntu 8.04 before. To test out the storage, I took it to an XP machine that didn't detect it either. Also, there's nothing on the "taskbar" on the N800 that shows USB is connected.
Here's the results of the dmesg
"[23446.502566] usb 8-3: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[23446.695460] usbcore: registered new interface driver libusual
[23446.710852] Initializing USB Mass Storage driver...
[23446.711064] scsi6 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
[23446.711261] usbcore: registered new interface driver usb-storage
[23446.711267] USB Mass Storage support registered.
[23446.711592] usb-storage: device found at 10
[23446.711595] usb-storage: waiting for device to settle before scanning
[23451.697939] usb-storage: device scan complete
[23451.702175] usb 8-3: USB disconnect, address 10"
looks like it's seeing the USB but not doing anything with it. Any suggestions? To see that it was making those logs when it was plugged in, I unplugged it, and replugged it and ran the dmesg again and the last line had the same timestamp. Thanks for replying!
