On installing the Diablo update, I lost my dual boot. From help from bunanson, penguinbait and fanoush's posts, I finally got my dual boot back, but it still wouldn't boot from my SD
by default
. After carefully following the
step by step procedures
several times, I still ended up having to manually select the Internal Memory card for boot using the bootmenu. Okay, but not what I really wanted.
Then I watched carefully AFTER I made the manual selection. At the top of my N800 screen, it said "Booting from immc2..."
Suddenly it occurred to me to TRY using "
immc2
" in the chroot command from the step by step procedures instead of "
mmc2
." I don't know why it occurred to me. Don't know why it didn't earlier.
chroot /mnt/initfs cal-tool --set-root-device ask:
mmc2
#pick your own choice
replaced with:
chroot /mnt/initfs cal-tool --set-root-device ask:
immc2
#pick your own choice
Anyway, I did try it and that alone solved my problem. Now my N800 boots by default from my SD again (as it did before the update).
I was pretty sure this had to be something everyone but me must have already known, but decided to make this post after finding two other members who'd had posted about very similar symptoms:

Anyway, I hope this helps someone.
