Thanks.
Exactly that idea.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/autoap/?abmode=1

Frankly speaking it works already in meamo to some extend and in iPod Touch with a database of known and saved APs/ Wifi
and reconnect can be set on .
Another issue is to have a parallel process/ script running to
scan for APs around and scanning for signal strength (like kismet).
What is hot is predictive mode, to have the same script run on APs
to map a mesh as a topology , like in GPS car navigation routing
and have TPC to scan and request undelivered packets.

Ok.
So what is hot is mapping / geolocation of APs and reporting signal strength to a central database, to be distributed among wifi clients.
Such application can incorporate wifi based (non-GPS) geolocation/navigation, already supported by iPhone.

And what I call dynamic rerouting is a feature to have packets to follow
mobile maemo client as what is ok and fine for 1-2 test users is not ok for a working mesh model of cell telephony / wifi mesh network.

And final hot stuff is vehicle (mobile wifi mesh) self-arranged
or dynamically rearranged wifi mesh topology
to assure bandwidth (dynamic bandwidth management) and signal quality.
