Does it need a static IP? My XP machines and my mac are addressable by name regardless.
I edited /etc/hosts so it says
127.0.0.1 N800 localhost
but when I go for root@N800, WinSCP can't find it, Host does not exist.

Of course, I don't have any idea what I'm doing.
