Depends what you want from your carputer, but I think a 770 has enough capability to
be
a carputer. Storage is cheap these days, so go audiophile and keep all your music as uncompressed .wavs to save CPU, and I think it should work. My N800 handily does GPS/nav (MM), and plays 256kb/s .mp3s (mpd), and only bogs down a little when text-to-speeching (flite, either from MM, or cyborg.py). If you axed (or even used the DSP for) MP3 decoding, I think a 770 would probably work fine.
