The chief suspect, for me, is the swap file -- I'm almost sure of that one. The next is the BT plugin. Or maybe a combination of both. So I'd gladly take a driver like fanoush's, that I can load and unload at will only when I need the keyboard, just like with the CIFS scheme...
If the swap is suspect, just yank out the memory card for a day or so. Swap is autmagically disabled w/o card.
