Since Pandora is "hacker-encouraged", someone has already looked into that. Apparently it is not a smart thing to split HDMI and leave a connector open. It interferences badly.

The drm thing is indeed crap and one of the major reasons why my Evil Master Plan (see above) needs pcs: DVI is a lot nicer in that respect. And there's always good old VGA.
