It would only be appropriate to have different versions then: a model with 3G/WiMax and a model without those wireless options. If you decide to have 3G later on the base config, you can use a 3G dongle. Some people (like myself), are not interested in monthly plans to have internet everywhere they go. I know I don't want to have to pay extra for the 3G/WiMax config when I know I won't use it.

Plus I wouldn't like it if it had phone capabilities either. I have a good phone thats works fine and I wouldn't mind if I would accidentally drop it. I may be sweaty, wet, dirty, etc. when having to talk on my cell, but do you think I would answer the tablet if i was under those conditions? No...

I just saw video where a small group of people were talking about UMPCs and MIDs. A few said that they would want the devices to be used as a phone while others said they would rather have a cheap, basic phone with bluetooth and have their all-in-one device separate.
