That was the 2005 client. Where ping was acutally available without useless other crap.

In 2006 you have to get "busybox with ipv6,iproute,netcat,ping,ping6,telnet,traceroute and wget" and when you try to install it, the system screams about needing an ip6 kernel. It's a pain really.
