Ah! Now it comes out. I get this from a lot of Windows admins when faced with having to learn another platform and realizing that their Windows knowledge doesn't apply to the larger world. There's resentment and frustration and they feel it must be the fault of the new system for not conforming to their expectations. Some long-time Windows users are willing to treat linux as a new challenge and learn about the differences and get over this initial learning curve. Some people get frustrated, blame linux for being different than windows and run away.

PS: If you're really trying to tell me that XP would be faster than Windows 98 on a computer that originally shipped with Windows 98 you're a very confused person...
