An terminal should be available in the default menu. Once it opens, just type 'rapier' and see what happens.

If you had it installed before, and removed it, chances are you also removed the modules installed. In the output of 'gconftool-2 -R /apps/osso/rapier' data_path is the directory name where rapier thinks module are stored. If they are not there anymore, well, bad things may happen

You can erase all preferences with

gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/osso/rapier

Carefull with this command, you may erase lots of other preferences if you forget to write the path correctly.

You may also want to try to uninstall everything that is rapier related, and install it again on top of the gconf cleaning.

As root:

apt-get update
apt-get remove sword
apt-get install rapier
