Thanks cyberCowboy.
1st of all, are you getting the bootmenu? When you boot, does a menu appear, or does it just say "booting from" and keep going?

If you are not getting the menu, you can do this to fix it.

TROUBLESHOOTING

MENU WILL NOT APPEAR
boot to flash and open xterm and become root and run the following command:
chroot /mnt/initfs cal-tool –set-root-device ask:flash
Instead of flash, you can also set the default boot image to be mmcX

mmc2 is partition 2 on internal
mmc3 is partition 3 on internal
mmc12 is partition 2 on external
mmc13 is partition 3 on external

Your menu will not display until you set it to ask:somthing then reboot.

----------------------------
If you want to remove bootmenu, you would need to reflash the initfs. The only way to do this would be to unpack the initfs from the Fiasco image and flash it from a Linux computer. The one problem with this is, there is no Fiasco image for 36-5 (at least I don't think there is.) So I guess I am not sure.

-----------------------

Also there should be a backup in /root/install-tools/initfs.orig.jffs2

You would need a linux computer to flash back the initfs image or possibly initfs_flasher may work, I don't recall off the top of my head
