Carman only supports (specific) OBD-II BlueTooth interfaces; no USB; no /dev/ttyUSB0. The cheaper ones are BlueTooth 1.2; the more expensive ones BlueTooth 2.0. BlueTooth 1.2 is easily crackable, provides only 10 metres. BlueTooth 2.0 has known, theoretical vulnerabilities not commonly exploited yet; but provides 100 metres. I have no idea how or whether it is possible to change the authentication code. I'd like to do this on my BlueTooth GPS, but I don't know how.

After initial reviews I'll most likely opt for BlueTooth 1.2 because of its shorter range and make a half Faraday cage around it. It isn't bank account data, but its still nobody's business.

Oh, and I'll be combining it with Minigpsd and Wayfinder/Navicore.
