From what I read Carman does not support more BlueTooth devices than the ElmScan although these could be added relatively easily.

My point is about BlueTooth 2.0 cryptography (using linear feedback shift register), and BlueTooth tracking in general (lack of hidden mode / temporary visible).

When I have sensor data in my car that I worry about someone stealing ----AND---- that person is within range (10 to 30 meters) then I will worry about it.
10 - 30 meters is for BlueTooth 1.2. This encryption scheme is easily crackable. For BlueTooth 2.0 its 100 meters, and crackable in theory.

Fact is you said something foolish regarding Bluetooth security concerns and the ELM327, just admit it.

Just because you don't care about a problem doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I believe the choice between BlueTooth 1.2 and 2.0 is in this case a conscious, important choice.
