oops sorry, you're right...it should be broadcasting signal, not accepting...
what I meant is that I configured my router to only broadcast "g" WiFi signal and enable it to search for the best signal broadchast channel. I don't really know about the technical explanation for searching the best channel. I just tick the "search for the best channel" options from my router admin page and my IT, not laptop, was able to connect to my WLAN.
