I think it is the vino bug mentioned on the vnc page (www.physik.de/770).
Three possibilities:
1. Try to install the package from vnc page
2. Use vncviewer 0.4 from the vnc page (not 0.4.1)
3. wait until ubuntu builds a new package from vino cvs
