Nokia should be able to cross-reference the device's serial number with the invoice you provide them so best not be dishonest.

However, you do not need to provide proof of purchase. The Nokia warranty period is 2 years in Europe (that's the statutory minimum for consumer goods across the EU since 2002) and you can trivially prove that your device is younger than that (the N800 first went on sale in January 2007).
