One thing that's kind of annoying (but its alpha, so I'll manage) is the order of events when you hit the power button to show the clock. First it shows the desktop, then shows the time and date, then shows the desktop again for a little bit, darkens the display, then turns off.
Basically it would be nice to go blank screen, clock, blank screen. I'm mostly wanting this to avoid any unnecessary battery loss.

But for now, awesome job.

I installed it as well, and it's so close to perfect already. I am truly astonished that a simple little request turned into reality in 24 hrs. The members of this forum are truly amazing, including yourself.

I have my display to turn off automatically after two minutes, and dim after 30 seconds. When I push the power button, it shows the clock and date for five seconds, then goes to home screen until the pre-defined display time turns it off. This works great for me, but a perfect app in my mind as well would be as quoted above if you decide to continue work on this.

Thanks again for the hard work, and lightning fast results. I can't wait for more iterations of this app!
