i don't have any personal experience with it, and i've heard some people say it doesn't work with all apps, so i won't make any promises, but i'd say in your case it's definitely worth trying out "USB Mouse". there's a wiki page about using a mouse with an internet tablet, and here's the installer for USB Mouse.
