The .fonts directory is the place for a user to put all of their fonts. Most Linux programs look there for fonts. I have a bunch of .ttf fonts in my .fonts directory, so I didn't notice that error... You can make a .fonts directory, and put one generic .ttf font file in there, and that should fix things. I think I'll put something like that in the next package.
