Unfortunately when I said "knows enough to be dangerous" iI guess I was overboard on that as well. My limits are the basic installs and updates for the Joe Public ( or Josephine Public) but I have ZERO working knowledge of using LINUX or MAEMO language or commands. I am curious as to why this just couldnt be put together as a simple installable application like most of the downloads we have access to. Just curious.

I'm sure it will be. For now you and Josephine are watching this applet as it develops. This is one of the few communities that provide that opportunity to the GP.

For instance version 0.3.2 and themes installed well for me with a current N800. However, attempting to update with the latest version 0.3.3 broke the install.
It shows in "app manager", and it can be selected in "control panel" but it doesn't show in the status bar.

I reverted to 0.3.2 via a fresh install and all is good again. I'm sure it will be sorted out before it is promoted as a "one click" install package. In the mean time I'm going to go back and re-read past threads for other developing apps to see if this behavior has occurred and attempt to find a possible cure...

It also could be simply "operator error" and someone will bring that to my attention as well.
