you mentioned editing documents and spreadsheets. I think this will be kind of hard on the n810, but maybe there is something out there. You can get debian on it and go with openoffice apps, but that is big stuff, especially if you weren't even sure what debian was and those office apps will run fairly slow. For browsing though I think it is the best device of that size.
