I finally did get it to install. I was googling around to find more repositories for the Nokia N810 (since I couldn't get the link that iancumihai provided to work).

I came to this thread on this very forum :

I downloaded the 7th catalog named :
Tried to install Canola2 again. This time the program was listed as Canola2 2.0.0 beta 10 (not beta 9 like i previously had listed). And it installed flawlessly!

Hope this helps anyone else having a problem with the installation.
