I can only guess that this is due to the problems with the lithium polymer battery that they were using. I think it was bigger than they had expected it would be:
Well they've also decided to produce a new board (old one had some issues so I understand), not sure if it's different in the fit; also, afaiu they've only had a prototype case so far, and needed to get hold of the keyboard bits and bobs to see if more case changes are required. Obviously they were for some or all of the above reasons (and the battery - very odd).

the basic thing here is that we are seeing the insides of a process that most companies hide from outsiders...
Of course, but in that case managing expectations better would have been a good idea. Even without the LCD delay, the battery changes, keyboard/case tweaks and mainboard fixes would still be necessary so the project would still be running severely late.

Anyway, I'm just a bit disappointed really.
