Oh, and, they're working on a software version of the redfly. Currently they're going to deliver XP/Vista (blah, useless), and they're working on a Linux version.

So, with:
  • The android apps I listed fixed,
  • Asus 8.9" Convertible/Tablet EeePC that was announced yesterday (assuming it has Eeebuntu support, or at least a Linpus version),
  • Redfly Software for Linux (hopefully with Eeebuntu and/or Linpus, whichever runs on the EeePC convertible tablet)

I'd be quite happy. Pocketable always-connected* linux-based phone for light work, linux tablet netbook for heavier mobile tasks and non-web apps, the ability to fully remote control the former from the latter, and the ability to display all of the above on a desktop.

OH, and, Maemo folks should probably get Redfly to make sure the Linux version supports Maemo too. That would be the holy grail I, and several others, mentioned wanting on the tablet for many years: complete remote control of your phone. Though, humurously, minus something we all assumed it would have: tethering (android doesn't currently support that).

(* well, limited to locations with wifi, EDGE, and/or HSPA signal)
