I've tried the Netbook Edition's launcher on a ThinkPad (and I'm using other bits of it like window-picker-applet and maximus) and it's so heavily Clutter based it absolutely crawled on a >1GHz machine (with, admittedly, limited hardware acceleration).

The launcher may be portable to Maemo 5 - but we don't know Nokia's plans for the desktop yet.
