I got my N810 yesterday, and am having a field day with it. I have
  • Flashed the latest Diablo build (5.2008.43-7)
  • Set up the extras repo
  • Added a bunch of apps, mainly from extras

I connected to the wifi at work and in a local sports bar, and it has been great fun. What a cool device. A worthy successor to my Zaurus. I have a list of apps to install from garage yet, but that is coming.

I have a couple of questions regarding it. First of all, what/how should the external mini-SD card be connected? Should it be formatted ext2 or something else? Where in the filesystem to most of you mount it to or just leave it hanging out there?

Second, I have had it randomly reboot on me a couple of times. Once was while I was changing themes. I was looking at themes, one after another, and after about the third one, it rebooted.

The second one was just now. I do not have wireless at home (yet), and I don't have tethering activated on my phone (again, yet). So I was going to try to use USB networking. When I connected the USB cable, it popped up a message saying

Code:
Unable to connect via USB.
Memory card in use:
Internal memory card
I had just finished installing the debian-final.img.ext2, so I closed the box telling me the installation was successful, disconnected the USB cable, and reconnected it. It gave me the same pop-up, then rebooted. After reboot, I reconnected the USB, and again, got the same pop-up. The desktop I am connecting to is running Debian with KDE4.2, and the device notifier only shows me the external sd card with debian-final.img.ext2 on it. Last night when I first unboxed it, it showed both cards. Is this normal?

Also, does the N810 charge from the USB? Also, is there a way to change the original Nokia boot splash? Just wondering...

Thanks,
