ADSL PPPoA DHCP to pick up ISP IP address -> half bridging enabled, NAT/ Firewall disabled -> WRT54G running hyperwrt set up with DHCP, gets passed ISP IP from modem (this is the half bridging) and runs firewalling and NAT from wrt54g. The wrt54g then issues local IP address, 192.1.0.x range to clients behind it.

Sorry for the late reply. I have my setup working fine now. The modem uses PPPoE.

I was advised to set the modem as a DHCP server and the WRT54-GL DHCP server feature set to off. The PC is connected to one of the WRT54-GL LAN ports. Another of the WRT54-GL LAN ports is connected to the modem. The WRT54-GL Uplink port is not used.

The WRT54-GL IP was changed to 192.168.1.254 from the default 192.168.1.1.
