agreed, we do similar

watching shows on the computer screen from across the room late at night needs high volume which isn't good cos the kids are in bed.

We have the tablet with us anyway (its my remote control for media player on the pc), and I've often wondered about listening with a smaller speaker nearby.

(i'm too tired at nights to wire one up!)
